GANANA Partners Lead Discussions on AI & HPC for Natural Hazard Resilience at EGU 2026

From 3 to 8 May 2026, Vienna once again became the world capital of geosciences during the EGU General Assembly 2026, Europe’s largest geoscience conference organised by the European Geosciences Union. During the event, several partners from the GeoHazard pillar of the GANANA project presented the latest advances of the project within a dedicated session organised by GANANA collaborators, focusing on the role of High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence in natural hazard resilience and forecasting.

Highlights from 2025: GANANA Made Its International Debut at Supercomputing India

GANANA participated at SCI 2025, a major international event in India focused on high-performance computing, AI, and emerging technologies. Project Director Rossen Apostolov delivered a keynote on “Supercomputing Without Borders: HPC, AI Factories, and Global Digital Partnership,” highlighting EU–India collaboration, the convergence of HPC and AI, and opportunities for shared software development and expertise exchange.

Supercomputing India is a premier conference dedicated to high-performance computing, bringing together experts, researchers, and industry leaders from India and around the world. GANANA participated in the 2025 edition of the event, showcasing its research and connecting with the global HPC community.

Hands-On Molecular Modelling: GANANA at Symposium on Grids & Clouds 2026

The GANANA project participated in the International Symposium on Grids and Clouds 2026 in Taipei, hosting a workshop and a hands-on computer tutorial focused on HADDOCK3, the advanced software for molecular modelling, recently released on the Indian Integrated Computing Environment (ICE-CLOUD) infrastructure.

Bridging Continents in HPC and AI: From Infrastructure to Ecosystems

Supercomputing Asia/ HPCAsia 2026 brought together leading experts, policymakers, and infrastructure providers from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond to discuss the future of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. As one of the region’s key annual gatherings
for HPC and AI, the conference serves as a platform for strategic dialogue between academia, industry, and governments. Within this framework, GANANA project organized a dedicated workshop “Bridging continents: multilateral cooperation between EU, Japan, India, Singapore, Korea and Australia” jointly with INPACE, the Indo-Pacific European Hub for digital Partnerships.

GANANA 2nd High-Level Symposium

The second High-Level Symposium on EU–India Collaboration in High Performance Computing will take place in Pune, India, on 25–26 February 2026.

GANANA takes part in SCA/HPCAsia 2026

The GANANA project will take part in SCA/HPCAsia 2026, taking place at the Osaka International Convention Center in Osaka, Japan, from 26 to 29 January 2026. The project will feature two workshops during the conference: one will focus on EU–India scientific collaboration in High Performance Computing, showcasing the progress and impact of the GANANA project, while the other will highlight cross-regional cooperation in HPC and AI.

GANANA through the voices behind the project: highlights from the first symposium

The GANANA project officially kicked off in Stockholm with a two-day symposium held on May 6–7. The event brought together research partners from Europe and India, alongside representatives from the European Commission, the Government of India, and the Swedish Research Council (VR), marking the beginning of a promising scientific alliance.
